So for our first wedding anniversary I asked Nico if we could replace our living room tables (which were made out of salvaged cabinets and were cool, but were thin, easily stained by cups, and not very pretty) with one giant table. One table to rule the entire living room. After a little back-and-forth he agreed.
This table is awesome because it can easily handle both couches worth of people (snacks and drinks and more). Plus it's convenient for putting together jigsaw puzzles (you'll see one I'm in the middle of in the photos) and for playing Nico's complicated board games.
It's super simple - just four large, reclaimed wood boards and four pipe legs - but because of it's size and because of the beauty of the wood it completely changes the vibe of our living room.
The dogs love the height/lack of shelving because there's lots of space under it for playing and sleeping. Nico wanted it to be tall (21"!), which is a little nuts but very convenient for eating. We also nixed a shelf because we never used our old table's shelf for anything other than building up clutter and dust.
Next up: end tables.
And then: a kitchen island.
And then.... well it never really stops right? Home improvement is the best (or the worst if you ask Nico).
