This year I found a picture on Pinterest of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Easter eggs (TMNT are always a crowd favorite and they're my nephews' favs right now) and wanted to copy it, with some fancifying alterations.
I decided I could dye eggs properly if I really tried my hardest.
I was wrong.
So - as you'll see in the steps below - I went rogue and painted the boiled/dyed eggs with acrylic paint. And my results were way cool. Next year I'm not even messing around with the dye step. I'm going straight for the paint. Especially since it's not like I ever eat the decorated eggs (they aren't appetizing after sitting on my counter for several days).
OK, without further ado, scroll down to see the photos and steps I took on this long, long, long egg-decorating journey (seriously, the dyeing and waiting and painting took me 3 solid days).
