Which meant I needed another costume and to tweak our outfits. Nico had a tiger mask, so I figured we could just do Lions, and Tigers, and Bears (Oh My!). I bought a bear hat, a lion outfit for a tiny puppy baby, and set off on a DIY adventure to finish the other pieces to our costumes.
[Off topic but important to us: we ended up getting two puppies!! We went to an apple farm in upstate New York to pick up our new fur baby, Scout (dressed as a lion in the photo below), but when we met Clementine (she's in the pumpkin) we couldn't leave her behind. She's just the absolute sweetest - shy and quiet and snuggly. So we took a night (at a sketch airbnb without shower functionality, greeeeaaat) to think it over (and google and call our pet expert friend and call my sister, our primary babysitter, and decided to go for it. Our girls are perfect, sweet, monsters. They're teething and crate training and learning how to walk with a leash and falling great heights off the couch, and jumping at the sound of Nico stomping down the stairs. We're so lucky. Neither of our girls are old enough to go to a party or really even wear the lion hat, so we decided they can share the lion costume. (Although, there's a cow costume due to arrive tomorrow - gotta get them used to wearing outfits early on!)]
OK, but for the DIY (which I know isn't super impressive, but there are puppy pics in this post that I'm hoping will compensate for the lack of inspiration). Click Read More below to learn how I made Nico's scary tiger costume!
